The Boston Book Fair is the annual fall gathering for book lovers and collectors, featuring the top selection of items available on the international literary market. Come see and shop over 130 U.S. and international dealers, sanctioned by the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers.
For more than 40 years, the Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair has hosted booksellers from across the U.S. and around the globe. Countries outside of the U.S. that have been represented in previous years include Argentina, Australia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, and Russia. Exhibitors showcase and sell a vast selection of rare books, illuminated manuscripts, autographs, ephemera, maps atlases, modern first editions, photographs, and fine and decorative prints. The Fair has something for everyone—from museum-quality pieces for curators to add to their collections, to items for under $100 for those discovering a new hobby or shopping for that special gift. A rare opportunity to talk with the experts in their fields and get up close and personal with one-of-a-kind antiques and collectibles.
Certain books were “banned in Boston” at least as far back as 1651, when one William Pynchon wrote a book criticizing Puritanism.
