Call for Submissions! 10 minute Play Contest!

Have you got a story to tell? Rockport New Year’s Eve is now accepting submissions for their 10 Minute Play Contest. The theme: “A New Beginning.” The contest is open to all  playwrights. Plays can be of any genre, as long as they are written for a general audience and are not musicals. There is a fee of $10 per play. The maximum submission is two plays per playwright. Eight winning plays will be performed, script in hand, at the Rockport New Year’s Eve Celebration on December 31. • Only original plays are eligible.

• Theme is: A New Beginning

• NOW Open to all Playwrights

• Each play should require two to six characters and minimal props and costumes

• The play, exclusive of the title and cast pages, must be no more than ten pages

• $10 entry fee (can be paid online) Just fill out the form on our website, submit submission fee.  Email your script as an attachment to info@rockportnye.org  with just the title of the play in the subject line.

• Author may submit more than one play, but each play must include a separate entry fee. Maximum 2 plays per playwright.

• Two ways to submit:  by email or snail mail

• Plays should be intended for a general audience.  

• Judging will be done by a group of local theater professionals.

• The winning 8 plays will be performed (script in hand) at the Rockport New Year’s Eve celebration!

Rockport New Year’s Eve (Rockport, MA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit corporation. The mission of RNYE is to broaden and deepen the public’s appreciation for the performing, literary, and visual arts through innovative, diverse and high-quality programs that offer the community a shared cultural experience that is accessible and affordable.   RNYE presents year-round programs that both support this mission and raise funds.  RNYE is largely supported by many business sponsorships and individual donations.
