Jump Write In to 2018

DEBORAH SOSIN offers a brand-new workshop to jumpstart your writing year with a blast of freewriting from prompts, combined with simple mindfulness skills and strategies designed to lower your stress and boost your creativity.

The workshop will include: freewriting from prompts, sharing your writing (optional), mini talk about mindfulness for writers, simple mindfulness exercises, group discussion. Location: Newton Highlands, Mass. Details provided upon registration.

Deborah Sosin’s first picture book, Charlotte and the Quiet Place, illustrated by Sara Woolley, was published by Parallax Press in 2015. Her essays have appeared on Salon, Cognoscenti, and in the Boston Globe Magazine, The Writer’s Chronicle, Journal News, Writer’s Digest, Zone 3, and elsewhere. Two essays were selected to appear in the anthologies Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Cat Did What? and Perspectives on Modern World History: The Apollo 11 Moon Landing.

In 2009, Debbie launched “Write It Like It Is” workshops and groups, designed to help people free up their authentic voice through writing in a nonjudgmental atmosphere. She offers personal coaching to writers and is an instructor at GrubStreet, an independent writing center in Boston. She also offers private executive function coaching and writing tutoring to adolescents and adults.
