A Modern Taste of Ancient Rome

May 3, 2017 | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

$85 - $95

Did you know that the world’s first foodies weren’t actually hipsters? They were wealthy ancient Romans and the best known was a man named Apicius, who was the inspiration for the world’s first known cookbook and threw lavish parties for Caesar Tiberius. Apicius is at the center of Crystal King’s debut novel, Feast of Sorrow (Touchstone Books, 2017), which is set amongst the scandal, wealth, and upstairs-downstairs politics of a Roman family.

Join Crystal King and Chef Patrick Campbell (previously of No. 9 Park and Cafe Art Science) for a culinary journey as Crystal discusses the Ancient Roman cuisine at the heart of her novel, FEAST OF SORROW (Touchstone Books/Simon and Schuster), while Chef Patrick cooks up creative, modern interpretations.
