The Sound of My Secrets: How to Tell a Personal Story with Audio

July 20, 2018 - July 22, 2018

$275

Personal stories have a special power because we keep them close to our hearts. When we share our stories, we give the gift of our experience to others to hear and learn from. However, if we want to really resonate with listeners, we must consider how to effectively tell our own stories.

Join us to learn how to tell a compelling personal story using audio. We’ll uncover the potential of audio, break down the essential elements of a good story, learn interviewing and recording techniques, as well as basic audio editing using Adobe Audition.

This will be a small class of ten students, so engaged participation is essential. You will spend a weekend immersed in learning the basics of audio storytelling, while listening to inspiring audio from masters of the craft. At the end of the weekend, we will brainstorm together how to use these new audio skills to tell your story in the most compelling way possible.

The workshop will take place at the PRX Podcast Garage over one evening and two full days:

– Friday, July 20 from 6:30 – 9:30pm
– Saturday, July 21 from 10am – 4pm
– Sunday July 22 from 10am – 4pm
