His works include the award-winning "Apron Full of Beans" (2008), "Dead Beats" (2011), "Generations" (1970), "Songs of Jubilee" (1986), "1935: A Memoir" (1990), "Folks Like Me" (1993), "Cross a Parted Sea" (1996), and more.
