What happens when you mix Cinco de Mayo with 826 Boston’s signature youth programs? A literary fiesta! Raise a glass and shake a maraca in support of 826 Boston’s youth writers, as we spin 1,000 stories in one night. Enjoy appetizers al fresco, dinner, and live music with sweeping views of the Charles River.

Featured speaker Luis Alberto Urrea is the best-selling author of 16 books, including The Devil’s Highway and The Hummingbird’s Daughter. This spring sees the release of two books: Urrea’s first book of poetry in 15 years, The Tijuana Book of the Dead, and The Water Museum, a book of short stories. A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, Urrea has won numerous literary awards for his poetry, fiction, and essays and is a member of the Latino Literature Hall of Fame.
