AGNI Magazine Spring Issue Readings and Launch Party

May 2, 2016 | 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

Readings by National Book Award-winner Andrea Barrett, poet Jayne Benjulian (author of Five Sextillion Atoms), David Daniel (whom Harold Bloom called “an authentic heir to Hart Crane”), and prolific essayist and fiction writer Heather Abel. Please join AGNI‘s editors and authors as we celebrate AGNI 83, our first issue of the year, at the Boston Playwrights’ Theatre on Monday, May 2nd, at 7:00 pm. The evening will feature readings, live music, and a rollicking launch party to follow with complimentary food and drinks. Our musical guest is Mali Sastri, the singer and pianist of the innovative and ethereal Boston band Jaggerty. Her multihued voice, trained in the expressive arts discipline Voice Movement Therapy, moves from “new-age songbird to woman scorned to woodland fairy to blood-thirsty werewolf to sultry lounge singer” (The Boston Herald). This event is free and open to the public.
