Boston’s South End at the Provincetown Library

August 2, 2016 | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

The Provincetown Library is pleased to welcome Russ Lopez, author of Boston’s South End: The Clash of Ideas in a Historic Neighborhood (Shawmut Peninsula Press, October 2015). Few remember how those million-dollar brownstones once housed tenacious landladies and their low-income tenants and how those hip restaurants were once home to overcrowded lodging houses. The first history of the neighborhood in 100 years, this book will be the go to resource for anyone who is curious about the South End. It tells a gripping story of conflict, community, and change.
