Dances by Isadora – Dance and Poetry

Maidens, Mothers, Wise Women – The Feminine Image in Dance and Poetry. This acclaimed dance ensemble presents beautiful work by Isadora Duncan, one of the founders of modern dance and modern feminism, interwoven with performances of poetry that delve into our concepts of womanhood, including works by Whitman, Yeats, Sexton and Levertov. Live music by concert pianist Sarah Takagi. Running Time: 2 hours with an intermission Presented as part of the “We Are…” Festival of Identity in Poetry, Prose, Music, and Dance by The Poets’ Theatre.
