Great American Read Panel on Romance Novels

July 26, 2018 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

For as long as books have existed, there have been love stories. But exactly what constitutes a perfect romance is different in every place and time. Join Under the Radar’s CALLIE CROSSLEY, along with SUSAN WEAVER SCHOPF, Professor of Literature at Harvard University, and Jackie Horne, President of the New England Chapter of the Romance Writers of America, at the Boston Public Library on Thursday, July 26 at 2 pm as they examine the evolution of romance in literature.

As part of The Great American Read: Beyond the Books, Crossley will examine the many tales of passion included in the list of America’s 100 most loved books, from Pride and Prejudiceto The Notebook, comparing how modern and classic tales approach love and romance. Love may be forever, but it certainly isn’t always the same.
