Peter Fallon and Jean Valentine, two internationally renowned poets, will read in the Suffolk University Poetry Center.
Peter Fallon is the author of over a half-dozen books of poetry, most recently Strong My Love (2014). He is also the founder of Gallery Press, one of Ireland’s most important literary presses. Jean Valentine is the author of ten books of poetry, and in 2004 won the National Book Award for Door Into the Mountain. Her most recent work is Dark Elderberry Branch, a translation (with Ilya Kaminsky) of the poetry of Marina Tsvetaeva.
Certain books were “banned in Boston” at least as far back as 1651, when one William Pynchon wrote a book criticizing Puritanism.
