“From Right to Left and Left to Right: Translating Yiddish Poetry”

Abigail Gillman (Boston University) presents Kathryn Hellerstein (University of Pennsylvania) and poet and translator Richard Fein in a session devoted to translating Yiddish poetry. The event forms part of Boston University’s Literary Translation Seminar.

Kathryn Hellerstein is the author most recently of A Question of Tradition: Women Poets in Yiddish, 1586-1987 (2016) and Richard Fein is currently preparing a volume of his translations of poems by Avrom Stuzkever, The Full Pomegranate. Abigail Gillman’s scholarship focuses on Jewish literature and culture of the German-speaking world.

This event will be taking place at 745 Commonwealth Avenue, 6th Floor, Room 625, Boston.
