Massmouth Story Slam

November 8, 2016 | 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Trident Booksellers & Cafe is pleased to welcome another edition of the Massmouth Story Slam, Our Common Wealth of Story.  The theme: Animal Nature.

What is a Story Slam?
A story slam is a contest of stories by known and undiscovered talent. Story slammers sign up on the night to tell a 5-minute short story on the evening’s theme. Ten names are drawn at random from a box. A team of 5 volunteer judges – interested amateurs, storytellers, theater people and members of the audience who love stories – evaluate how well each story is told, how well it is constructed, how well the story explores, connects and/or reveals some truth about the theme, and how well it honors the time limit. The two highest-scoring tellers and a third selected by the audience are awarded prizes and an opportunity to perform at the “BigMouthOff” at the end of the slam season in the spring.

Doors open at 6pm. Slam starts at 7pm.
